I don't think I saw that on his computer, from what I searched around, he has PCsurvey, Surveylink to do his work and his device with active sync to sync the device to the computer, but I have no idea how to tie this little security device in with all of this. Anyone have any advice or ideas? TDS Foresight is now dead, it was acquired by Trimble and is now supported through their Spectra Precision brand somewhat. I can always run the program as XP or a virtual machine. I am not 100 percent sure how DRM works. He still has the software CDs etc. The DRM is old school, it connects to the serial port of the computer and interfaces with it like it would a printer. When the program boots (I know foresight and SurveyLink check) it checks for the lock.

SurveyLink only downloads/uploads the collector, nothing else and its pretty much useless if you can connect with WMDC. The program was released when the Ranger collectors only had serial ports (no usb) to communicate to the Ranger. Foresight should be your focus, but I'm not sure if the serial hardware lock will be recognized on windows 10, so I would recommend him using XP even tough its end of life and stay off the internet.
