Excellent solid-state practice amp. Has tremolo and reverb, and a boost button. Seemingly designed as an AC15 emulation, it has the same layout as an AC15 (except the boost button).

It has nice chiming treble response and in my opinion, shines when overdriving. Please excuse me I dont often speak on my vids so I repeated myself a few times, etc. Magic Iso Maker 5 5 Magic Discography there. Nervousness I guess. Specs: 15 watts solid-state 8 inch vox bulldog speaker Tremolo reverb Cost: 145-160 dollars new about 110 dollars used on ebay demoed with a Xavier XV-820 Telecaster no pedals used; plugged straight into amp.

I'm looking for a small practice amp to use in my living room and 3 season room during the day. It doesn't have to be headphone quiet, just produce decent tone and be small enough to move around easily. My Mesa/Boogie Express 5:50 1x12 does the job well in it's 5 watt mode, but it's over 50 pounds to move upstairs out of my basement studio and set up (I can't play it in my basement studio during the day because my wife is working in the office next to it). I don't like small 5 watt SE amps at all for this purpose (though in it's 5 watt mode, the Express is a 5 watt SE amp!!!). They all sound like small 5 watt SE amps to me. They're fun cranked up but their clean sound doesn't do it for me at all. I've had several, including a '70s Fender Vibro Champ and a recent Gibson GA-5.

The Fender Super Champ XD that I played sounded great but is more than I want to spend. The Tech 21 Trademark 30 is intriguing but is also expensive new (though not too bad used). What about the Vox Pathfinder 15R? The Pathfinder is one of the best amps out there for practice and quiet gigs. Not the Swiss Army amp (with loads of effects and tweakable presets) you find in many 'practice' amps these days.but if you are interested in a small, portable amp with more volume, tone and soul than many amps costing much more, look no further. The boost function doesn't thrill me, but the amp sounds great without it, so no biggie.

It loves pedals too. While there are lots of great little amps in that price range and realm, all things considered, I believe one would be hard pressed to find a better amp than the Pathfinder 15R. Proud Pathfinder owner here. I've got to say, that this is probably my favorite amp I've ever owned. I do love my SF Vibro Champ, but I like 5w amps cranked, and I obviously just can't get that sound at low volumes without a pedal. If I'm plugging in, 9 times out of 10 its into my Pathfinder.

Its got killer tone and sounds even better with a larger speaker. I actually installed a 10' speaker in mine without any problems. Like BB, I'm not crazy about the Boost even though I use it from time to time, but everything else on the amp is great. The Tremelo is especially nice. I have an annual jam I go to and this will be my first gig with my Pathfinder. That sucker is loud and I don't expect to have any problems keeping up with the rest of band. BTW, when you get one, be sure to get the footswitch too.

I did and have no regrets. Click to expand.I think so. I think that Vox is a true leader in the modeling amp arena. The AD30VT or AD15VT etc are great. As a middle aged fart; I don't really value having 6 Nu-Metal models on an amp or all the crazy effects (I have pedals). The 15R is my answer. It just has the stuff that I actually use on an amp.
